I love how Maeley became more courageous because of the help of her friends. I also love a good story. I learned that you can’t force anyone to change, but you can inspire them. This story is inspiring! The most beautiful sounding song to me is from the chapter The Betrayal (Tonight) but The Silence is the one that has stayed stuck in my head. The instruments brought even more feeling to the story. Chapter 8 brought me to tears! I’ll end with my favorite quote: “Hold onto hope”! —Lauren W.

I am an avid reader whose preferred genres trend toward mysteries, epic fantasy journeys, and dystopian sci-fi stories.  Rise Up Babylon is a departure from my comfort zone and turned out to be an adventure I did not realize needed to be taken.  The author's storytelling is captivating, but the music adds another dimension that simply creates magic.  I found the unique format intriguing and eagerly anticipated the artistry revealing itself at the close of each chapter. The events relayed in the story should have left me feeling somber, yet somehow it gave me a sense of hope.  I would recommend this book to anyone not just looking for a story to pass the time, but rather an experience to carry them forward.  —Rebecca C.

This is a masterpiece!!! The story is captivating— I think about it when not listening and am compelled to get back to it. The cadence of Madam Snowflake’s words in story mesmerize. Her voice and range in music is gorgeously unique. Every word in story makes me want to rewrite everything I have written, inspired by her creative mix of stringing descriptive words so simply — perfection!! I love the hero's journey. I love the positive and inspiring story. I can’t wait to see this reach the public and spread faster than the fire that threatened the mountains and homes so well described. This was my first musical audiobook, and I was amazed by how much adding music drew me into the story. Hearing the songs woven throughout added so much emotion and depth. The story and music were absolutely beautiful! I could truly feel Maeley’s struggles and pain, and I kept listening, hoping things would get better for her family. The song “In Her Name” especially stayed with me. Making a change in honor of someone else is such a powerful and touching way to remember them. This audiobook made me feel deeply, and inspired me to want to be better. I can’t wait for others to experience it too! —Natalie P.
